Fireproof

I just watched the movie called fireproof and it comes highly recommended for all married folks. It is a must watch. The main character underlines a key message for viewers to take away from the movie - "Never leave you partner behind in a fire".

Think about it. Most of the times, we are happy to fellowship and commune with our brothers and sisters in happy times. but when things start to get shaky, when there is a problem they face, when they are going through a particular struggle, what do we do? Are we the ones who will go in there and pull them out or do we join the crowds and watch the house go down? Are people in our churches becoming just a statistic while the relationship and christian love are left in the ashes?

Hard hitting questions that we got to face up to as leaders and christians. You are an ambassador of love. You are the chosen to reveal the heart of the Father to the world. This is the heart that throbs with love for all mankind and beats with the promise "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, but they shall not overflow you: when you walkest through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you"

As the world heads towards an eternal fire,. does our hearts resonate the love of our Father? Have we truly understood what love is? Are we committed to love someone over and over even though they spit at you?

Where are we headed to in 2010? Let's make love our cruise ship and as we sail through life, let's welcome all who cross our way on board, for the more there is, the merrier! Let's be fireproof. Live godly, love generously and labour gratefully.

SHALOM!
